More Lessons

I'm on a life lesson's streak.

1. As much as they deny it, 20-something year old guys can sometimes have more emotional problems then girls do. I swear they have man periods. I'm trying to learn that when they go on their mangents (tangents about their man problems) its prob easier to just ignore them, than try and justify your side of the story. Hmph, frustration.

2. 3 hours of sleep will probably not equal a very good day

3. Mom's home cooking fixes everything

4. Speaking of 3 hours of sleep, I'm so tired that if I didn't proofread this post like 10 times, it would prob be incoherent.

5. In the car ride home today, I came up with a bunch of lessons and I'm so tired that I've forgotten them all =(

Random Monday Lessons

1. I read every Gossip Girl book and was extremely addicted, but I have never been interest in the TV show. I started watching an episode while getting ready to go out (I'm low maintenance, so I'm ready and prob not going to leave for another hour, so blogging it is.) It is pretty much the Sex in the City for teeny boppers. I prefer Sex in the City to be honest.

2. I could never live in a single apartment. All my roommates went away for the weekend, and because I worked a lot, I didn't go out a ton. But when I'm home I find myself bored out of my mind. No human interaction = no fun for me!

3. If you wake up, and wonder why its Tuesday morning and they aren't mowing the lawn, its because its still Monday and you just feel asleep watching America's Next Top Model reruns, and woke up 3 hours later.

4. If you say your computer is perfect and you never have problems with it, it will find something to break. Currently my "O" key is not happy and sometimes refuses to work.

5. You know you've been shopping too much lately when you look at your money for the rest of the week and you have to decide whether you want food money or drinking money. I chose the latter. (Don't worry Mom, I have plenty of groceries at my place. Packing lunches for work this week it is). After I buy shoes at the discount show store for Recruitment that I will still wear after, I'm putting myself on a strict no shopping budget. Besides, while moving, I'm realizing pretty much the only thing I own is a shit load of clothes. I'll be honest though, I do wear about 90% of them, unlike those people who have a closet full of clothes they NEVER wear.

6. For the 3rd year in a row, I have to clean up after a messy roommate before moving out because she didn't. I will spend one of my days off this week scrubbing the who knows what off her side of the bathroom sink. Barf much?

Dance your ass off!

The other night, for the first time, I saw an episode of the show "Dance Your Ass Off" and I was thoroughly disappointed. Being a dancer myself, I am always a fan of the dance shows and willing to give all of them a shot, but this one is just not a hit.

The point of this show is for overweight people to literally dance their fat ass off. I think its a good concept and I'm all for the shows to get people healthy (I knew a contestant on "Biggest Loser" and it changed her life!) but they could have done so much better with this show.

Judges- I'm not sure if ANY of these judges have any dance experience. There is a British guy that I only think he is on the show to be the token British guy. One of the judges is no one I have ever heard of but she insists on putting the word "sexy" in front of whatever number she gives the contestants ("I'm going to give you a sexy 7"), and the other one is the actress who played the nanny in the Lindsay Lohan "Parent Trap" (can you say random?)

Host- Girl from the "Hairspray" movie. She is just way too smiley and monotone

Dancers- Must they always be put in crop tops? and the dances are so easy the 3 years old I used to teach could pick them up

I was excited to see what this show would be like but I think I'm going to have to consider this one a dud

Boutiques.. I need you!

One thing that I feel like my town thoroughly lacks is fun little boutiques. Growing in Vacation Beach Town, USA my entire life there was always a cute boutique with fun accessories to pop into and quickly satisfy a shopping urge. Where I live now, there is just no in between. Its either really tacky stuff, or outrageously priced designer stuff. While in Georgia, we went shopping in downtown Decatur, and we found the cutest little boutique that I wish I could remember the name of it. They had candles, reasonably priced jewelry, handbags and wallets, perfume, fun gag gifts, and even some cute baby gifts. My mom got the cutest little black leather wallet.

And the frosting on the cake, they were playing Jason Mraz's “Details in the Fabric” as I walked in. Heaven.

If only I could find this Heaven here in my town.

Was it a dinosaur?!

I'm finally back home after being on vacation for a week. I'm happy to be back, but I did have a fabulous time visiting family in Georgia. We did a lot of fun things, giving me plenty to blog about for the next few days.

A lesson I learned from this weekend. 6 and 4 year-olds say hilarious things.

6 year old: Mini genius. He read me multiple books, taught me how to finger knit (slightly against my own will, but I went along with it), colored Winnie the Pooh pictures almost perfectly in the lines, and also gave me great dating advice...

6: Are you married?
Me: No
6: Why not?
Me: Well, I would need a boyfriend first
6: Do you have any guy friends?
Me: Yes
6: Well, maybe one of them can be your boyfriend

*He also successfully changed my uncle's facebook status to "bunny"

4 year old: cutest little ham I've ever seen. He made me laugh the entire weekend.

4: Well, this is the first time I've been impressed!

[While out to dinner, trying to figure out what kinda of animal the 6 year old saw while on a road trip. We were all guessing a cow, goat or horse]
4 interjects: Was it a dinosaur?!

I got to spend my weekend with the two cutest boys I know, and I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

and Why I love my father

So, I gave my reasons for loving my mother, but now its time to give you the 7 reasons why I love my father

• We are the same person. We have the same sense of humor, interests, fears, favorite foods, and laid back attitude
• He always motivates me to stand up for myself and not take crap from anyone, especially guys
• He'll watch any movie, good or bad. And even if its bad, he'll sit through the whole thing.
• He's really good at what he does, no matter what it may be. He's amazing at his job. He can pick up a guitar after 20+ years and still play. He can fix any computer problem, and most of the time, is able to do it explaining to me through the phone.
• I've learned a lot from him. I give him credit for my knowledge of computers, music, and sports
• I danced for 12 years, and as far as I can remember, he never missed 1 of those 12 dance recitals, regardless of how painfully long they may be. Enough said lol
• He is an amazing husband to my mom. He has been by her side through a LOT, and there are probably a million men out there that wouldn't have been there, but he has. Whether it be working 70 hours a week to make up for my mom not being able to work, or stepping in to do the extra stuff that some days she just can't do. He has probably given me unrealistic expectations of what a guy will be, but that's ok, because I don't want to give up looking for the man that will be just like him.

Why I love my mother

Little Miss Sunshine State, my mom, posted in her blog 7 things she loves about her kids and it has inspired me to write 7 things I love about my mother!

• I can call her crying at any time of the night, completely down on myself, and I can hang up the phone and feel a million times better about myself.
• She has always felt bad for being so sick while I was growing up, but through it all, I believe that she has never, ever, ever failed me once as a mother.
• She tries so hard and will spend 10 minutes trying to type a text message, just to put a smile on my face
• She puts up with my horrible taste in television shows , and always makes sure to make an amazing homemade dinner whenever I come home
• She found her Prince Charming, and with a lot of hard work from the both of them, has always set an amazing example of what a marriage should be
  
• She is an extremely creative person, and I am slightly jealous of her scrapbook, jewelry making, notecard creating skills
  
• She is the strongest person I know, and I wish I could be half the woman she is
